Cogan’s Farm Wedding | Allie and Collin

Cogan's Farm Wedding
Cogan’s Farm Wedding

From the first time we met Allie and Collin, we knew their Cogan’s Farm wedding was going to be something special. Allie is so calm and matter-of-fact that you never have to question things when you’re talking with her. Collin is the perfect equal to her temper, bringing strength of emotion that perfectly ignites her.

This Cogan’s Farm wedding is actually significant to us at Next Door Digital Photo/Video because although we have now been out to Cogan’s Farm several times, Allie and Collin’s engagement session was the very first time we set foot on the grounds. Aside from falling head-over-heels for these two and the love they share, it was also the start to a blossoming affection for the venue and its precious owners, Brian and Fran.

Every detail of this farm wedding was carefully thought through and planned out by Allie. When she sent me her wedding binder, I was shocked in the best of ways. I felt like I was looking in a mirror at my own organized planning tendencies. She had everything put together, from different schedules for each person and part of the wedding day to contact info for all of the vendors. She picked out the perfect blue spring details to give the day a soft vibe. She even had a blue trinket tray specifically for the photos.

Cogan's Farm Wedding Details

Allie and the girls had a great setup across the top floor of the Cogan’s Farm home. I love the eclectic feeling of this area and the multitude of rooms they have available for the girls’ use. Alongside her late mother’s wedding dress and portrait, Allie and her sister shared some sweet moments as she prepared for the big day. I was struck from the very beginning by how precious this relationship was, and it got me looking out for hidden moments and shared looks throughout the day.

While the girls got ready in the house, Collin and his guys were hanging out in the groom suite right down the lane. This barn suite is such a vibe for a bunch of country guys, and it comes with a calming view of the pond. When I asked if Collin was nervous, I saw his “Absolutely!” spelled out on his entire body. In my opinion, nervousness just says that you care a lot.

Little did he know that in that very moment, Allie was slipping into the most perfect dress that would take his breath away. Allie and her girls found this one at Vow’d in Nashville, and I’d say it was well worth the trip! It brings a look of modern elegance to the vintage setting of this Cogan’s Farm wedding.

First Look with Dad beside Cogan’s Farm house

One of the first people to see Allie in the whole bridal look was her loving father. Before the heat of the ceremony and the exchange of vows, Allie and her father took a moment to themselves in this private alleyway next to the Cogan’s Farm house.

Allie thought she had the biggest surprise for her dad, but it turns out, he had something in return for her. The precious photos and letter from her mom that he pulled out touched both of their hearts and made for a memorable exchange I won’t be forgetting soon. Pre-writing a letter for Allie’s wedding day is like something straight out of a movie, and I know it made Allie’s wedding day just that much more special.

I’d like to say we beat the rain for Allie and Collin’s first look, but it turns out that a little bit of weather wasn’t going to prevent this outpouring of emotion. You can say that Allie and Collin prepared all morning for the ceremony in front of family and friends, but I think this private moment was the real crescendo of everything they put into the day.

I don’t think Collin was thinking much of the dress, shoes, or flowers when he saw Allie. It was so sweet watching the full weight of the day settle over Collin when he saw his bride and held her. After the initial pressure was released, Allie and Collin took a moment to share their own private vows and relish in the celebration to come.

Cogan’s Farm Wedding Ceremony by the Dock

Cogan's Farm Wedding Ceremony

It’s hard to say which of Cogan’s Farm’s wedding ceremony sites is my favorite. There is an entirely different charm to each of them, and they each lend to such wildly different wedding vibes. That’s one of the things that makes Cogan’s Farm such a wonderful wedding venue. However, I have to say that there is absolutely nowhere else that could have suited Allie and Collin as well as the dock ceremony site.

The flowing fountain, overcast skies, grand two-door entrance, and dapper audience all came together to paint a masterpiece as they publicly gave themselves to each other for life. Tears were shed, Allie’s mom showed up in a Penny from her Dad, and the heavens held their breath (and raindrops) until the very pronouncement at the end.

After the hefty engagement period that Allie and Collin have been through, in which they endured more hardships than many couples see in a lifetime, this ceremony was the fulfillment of a promise already tried in action.

Following the ceremony, Allie and Collin got to receive their guests into the reception hall for a bit of mingling while we captured some fun portraits with their family and wedding party.

The rain didn’t hold out long, but it was enough to take a short breather in the woods to make some magic and enjoy their first moments together as newlyweds.

As they say, the rest is history. Or should I say, their history. Allie and Collin received some moving toasts that wove the tale of their love story together and made the backbone of their highlight reel.

They had a bbq dinner to bring together the southern atmosphere, shared some sweet dances, and kicked up the excitement with a Dollar Dash and a live dance floor.

Altogether, this Cogan’s Farm wedding was everything you could ask for. It was peaceful, emotional, moving, and fun all in the same day. We left Allie and Collin as glowing newlyweds with full hearts and a future promising all of the happiness they have earned together.

“James and Esther was great during our wedding! They were diligent in catching every moment we were looking for! They are so kind and sweet! I would have them do it all over again if I could! The final video we received made both my husband and I bawl like babies. We are more than happy with there work!! 10/10 recommend!!“
