Front Porch Farms Wedding | Kaitlynn and Brian

It’s not every day that you live out a fan’s dream at work. For us as a wedding photo/video team, this Front Porch Farms wedding was exactly that – and more! Shortly after booking this job, I was looking around their website and discovered that one of our favorite music artists actually got married at the venue. We did what any professionals would do. We told our whole family that we were going to shoot a wedding at the venue where NF got married! All joking aside, this inviting couple and their amazing family stole our hearts from meeting 1, and we wouldn’t have traded their special day for anything – even a favorite artist.

Kaitlynn and Brian were actually set up to get married in Florida originally, but after a pretty quick move, they ended up with the perfect micro-wedding in the hills of Middle Tennessee. Even in the midst of such a chaotic time of moving and wedding planning, Kaitlynn managed to make the most beautiful DIY decor for their special day! Most everything was made by hand with the love and dedication of a bride-to-be, and her sister took charge of putting everything together at the venue.

One of my favorite details of the day was this custom bow-tie for Brian. It’s made from the fabric of Kaitlynn’s wedding dress, so they matched in such a special way when they came together at the end of the aisle.

What a dress it was to match with! The lace design is nothing short of stunning, and Kaitlynn sports the pockets like a sassy queen. This candid mirror shot is giving 2000s selfie vibes, and I’m living for it.

As a storytelling photographer, I’m obsessed with an authentic bride, and Kaitlynn was just that. She laughed and frolicked with us through her bridal session. She was genuine and comfortable, and that’s what makes both a stunning album and an unforgettable experience.

Brian is the perfect match for her energy. He wasn’t afraid to get a little silly and laugh with us. Even when he was a little tired of photos toward the end of the day, it was clear he was a good sport and wasn’t sacrificing the memories along the way. But my favorite thing about Brian is watching him be an attentive, loving dad to their son, “Super Dean”, and his daughter.

First Touch on the Front Porch
The first time we saw them come together was right in front of the house there at Front Porch Farms. While they opted for a traditional approach of not seeing each other until she was walking down the aisle, they didn’t have to give up a sweet moment of connection before everything got crazy.

Kaitlynn and Brian shared the sweetest private vows, recapping their life together and all of the perfect and imperfect moments that brought them to this one. I never take it lightly when people invite us into these private moments to capture the memories for them!

First Look with Dad | Kaitlynn
Before tucking herself away, Kaitlynn had one more thing to do pre-ceremony. She wanted to honor her father with a special private moment and a gift.

These cufflinks were the perfect addition for the occasion. As Kaitlynn helped him put them on, he glowed with a smile that could only mean he was a proud dad in love with his little girl.

Front Porch Farms Wedding Ceremony at the Oak Tree

In my opinion, the ceremony area under the tree is hands-down the best part of having a Front Porch Farms wedding. For most times of day, this area is largely shaded, offering respite from a hot sun as well as gorgeous lighting for photos. Plus, the backdrop is beyond perfect.

Kaitlynn had a whole security detail to escort her and the rings down the aisle, and let me tell you, these boys took their job seriously.

There’s something so special about an intimate wedding ceremony. This Front Porch Farms wedding wasn’t rows and rows of people watching a spectacle. It was an organic gathering of the people closest to Kaitlynn and Brian, responding back and forth to each other. The kids were kids, there was laughter in the air, and I saw a Momma moved to tears. They did a knot tying ceremony, had laying on of hands with prayer, and offered the marriage up to God as a family.

One perk of having a micro-wedding is that you can get a photo with every single guest. Front Porch Farms has a second wedding ceremony spot right next to the tree, which is perfect for these portraits as the guests filter out to the reception. I don’t think there was a contrary person there. Simply put, it was such a joy to capture these memories of family, friends, and the perfect wedding party. Side note: look at the way the bridesmaid dresses add personality and match with their spring florals. Striking!

Once everyone had their turn and the voices faded into the distance, Kaitlynn and Brian took a few moments alone to capture the love they were there to celebrate. I can’t say enough great things about the way the venue, lighting, and chemistry played together to paint some masterpieces.

Front Porch Farms Wedding Reception in the Event Hall

Once the dress was bustled and night started to fall, everything went by all too fast. They mixed things up with Zander’s Woodfired Pizza truck and hand-delivered toast glasses to their guests for some moving speeches to the couple and right back at their family and friends. Kaitlynn ordered individual cakes for each table, so once the bride and groom kicked it off, the guests got to dig in to their own!

They started off the dancing with a special first dance, followed by a moment with Kaitlynn’s dad and Brian’s mom. After that, they broke out some classic rock, and the rest is history! It was a fitting end to a perfect day, and I believe with my whole heart that their marriage will be even more beautiful than the wedding.
